Interpret lab values, report to physician and assess/implement potential treatment charges.
Provide patient education about diagnosis and treatment.
The staff must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.
Conducts focused wound assessment.
Uses wound dressings per formulary.
Collects wound cultures per policy.
Minimum Education:
Graduate from a school of professional nursing.
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association is required.
Licenses:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or compact state.
Minimum Work
Experience:
2 years recent experience with Medical/surgical patients.
Wound Care experience preferred.
